Helping Farm, Feral, Old, Disabled and Stray Cats

Welcome to 5 Valley Cat Rescue

My Image

5 Valley Cat Rescue is a local registered charity helping cats and kittens in and around the Stroud Valleys in Gloucestershire. We rely entirely on donations and the work of our volunteers to carry out our activities.

Times are hard at the moment and that is also true for cats. We are currently experiencing a high number of homeless cats needing help and are finding less and less potential new owners coming forward. Check out our adoption page for details of the cats currently needing new homes.

See our forthcoming fundraising events list and come and meet us.

  • About Us

    About Us

5 Valley Cat Rescue was founded in 2002 by 6 friends to address the welfare of farm, feral, old, disabled and stray cats in and around the Stroud Valleys. In 2003 we became a registered charity. There is now a committee of 4, and we have around 20 volunteers and a membership scheme with 140 members.

We rely entirely on fundraising and donations to run the charity. We are based in Stroud, Gloucestershire and cover the surrounding areas such as Stonehouse, Cirencester and Dursley.

  • How We Work

    How We Work

We assist in re-homing all unwanted cats and kittens where we are able to. We have 6 garden pens where domestic cats are temporarily housed and cared for by individual volunteer fosterers whilst they await new homes.

We offer free neutering for farm, feral and outdoor living cats and we will assist with costs for neutering domestic cats. We can lend cat traps to catch unhandleable cats, and will also arrange for them to be given a free health check at the same time as being neutered.

  • How To Help

    How To Help

We are always looking for new foster carers to look after cats who are searching for their forever family and volunteers who can help us at the many local events we attend throughout the year to help raise the funds we need to continue our work.

We also run a membership scheme and new members are always welcome.

Can you spare a little time to help regime a cat or raise funds?
